Great pix. I'am currently fitting the old 8v 2.0 block in my min but using the ignition system + inlet manifold off a 1.8 gte and have found that all this fits nicely under an unextended front end, as long as you rotate the brake master cylinder (a converted metro one) 180 degrees aroung so that the resevoir is facing the balkhead. Great Site! I can't wait for you to update it. I think that putting a different engine in a Mini is a brilliant idea. The only problem is that if i did do it, the people from my club would not like it. It would be like taking the heart out of the Mini. Nice site - you obviously know what you're doing wiht all the php etc. A lot of chances for user interactivity - guestbook/links/add notes etc, which keeps people coming back.
Hope you get your engine in, I think people might well follow in your footsteps once they know it can be done by a normal human - not some technical guru with an endless money supply. :) You never know, I may well have a go! My Dad has just blow the head gasket on his 8V 2L Vauxhall, and he's going to replace the whole engine (cheaper, somehow) - so there might well be a spare engine lying around my garage soon!
