As you might know/ or not... the ECO-TEC engine does not have a distributor . It runs a system called distributor-less igntion system (DIS). So to get it to work you either needs and ECU to run the the DIS or bolt on a dizzy (distributor). This is easy on the older 16v's as there is a socket for it to go into on the head. On my engine there is not !. I handed the project over to my dad to solve. We decided the best bet would be to try and do the same sort of thing. Problem : There is no place to mount the dizzy on the head. Solution : Machine a adaptor plate to mount to the head and dizzy. Problem : No drive pin on the end of the cam. Solution : Remove cam and drill to fix a location peg too. |
